COVID-19 Update 24 February 2022

Kia ora Woolston Development Project whānau and friends,

With the growing number of COVID-19 cases in the general community, it’s really important to us to keep you, our staff, and other people who attend any of our activities safe.

If you are sick, please don’t come to us.

If you discover that you or your child have been or potentially been exposed to COVID-19, please let us know as soon as possible after receiving notification from medical professionals, school or wherever you were exposed or potentially exposed so that we can assess the risk to our staff and anyone on our programmes or activities.

It goes without saying that if you’re meant to be isolating, please don’t come near us.

While we are keeping in touch with local schools as to the cases they may have, it’s really important to keep us in the loop too, especially if you have a child on our OSCAR programmes.

I appreciate the effort people are making to wear masks when they’re on site – thank you. We have immunocompromised people on staff as well as among our regulars in our weekly activities.

There may come a day where there’s a major exposure event – for example, a child on our OSCAR programme tests positive. If our staff members start to come down with COVID we may be forced to shut down programmes due to not being able to have the necessary number of staff rostered on. I’m inclined to think it is a probability rather than just a possibility, but we really hope it doesn’t come to this.

Kia Kaha. We know it’s tough going at the moment.

Ngā mihi nui,
Eddie
Manager
